Advertising Agent:

Secret advertising agent is kids!

Advertiser make an advertisement that can attract the kids to persuade their parents to buy the advertised items. What a trick idea!

Three things that changed traditional advertising:

(i) Clutter: In advertising, it refers to the large volume or excessive of advertising messages. The web users usually will immediately leave a website if they perceive it will be cluttered by with ads.
(ii) Trust:  "mouth-of-mouth" and "peer recommendations" are more believable and online consumer reviews are the second most trusted form of advertising.
(iii) Social media: Advertisement on Social media like Facebook and Youtube is increasing and has really taken off in 2012.

Week 9

The topic for week 9 is Creative in Art Design and Multimedia.

Creativity refers to the invention or origination of any new thing that has value.

Art refers to work produced by such skill and imagination. Design is a plan or drawing produced to show the look and function or working of something.

Multimedia is a combination of different type of media such as sounds, video, graphic, text and animation.

Today's topic is also about the history of creativity in art. Art, originally is a medium of communication purpose and a visual form of expressing emotions and ideas. Creativity in art is the way people communicate with others their originality of ideas.

I am really impressed with the creative food art. This art is either intended to attract the intention of the viewers towards the food for better eating experience or  just for the art's sake. These are some example of it:

Laptop and Windows XP made from Japanese food. :)

Canadian goose made from mushroom. :D

Factory/farm made from breads.

It's Beautiful, isn't it?

Invention-Innovation

Question:

What can we learn from here: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/tech/article/japans-gadget-failures-the-futures-that-never-happened/

From this article, we can see that, not every invention bring innovation. Some invention failed at the beginning.  It waste so much time, money and energy on failed products that were expected to be succeeded.

They, at that time too ambitious to please their customers with their playful and crazy ideas and at the same time they were forgot that they are also in a business where their profit is based on their customer wants and needs. For instance, who wants a radio in a shape of television and cost a little more than a month's salary of  an elite public servant of that time? And a television-shaped gas stove that was sold at the most expensive model at that time? It's not about what customer wants and needs but they at that time just following the trend where people admired the television set.

But, as we all know, creativity is about taking a big risk. As Masuda said, "But companies in this period were vigorous and had a ‘go-for-it’ spirit. They were not afraid of failures"

So, we can conclude that, we all can be creative, inventive and innovative as long as it can bring something meaningful and useful for the community.

Thanks. :)
